Spiritual Growth
We live in a fast moving and rapidly changing world where we imagine that the instant gratification of our needs and desires has become the key to our happiness. We want everything now, or better still, yesterday. Yet somehow, each desire gratified is short lived and leads us quickly on to the next. We know there is something out there, ever so slightly out of reach, which, when we get it, may eventually make us happy. But if this object of desire only makes us happy for a short time then perhaps, sooner or later, we may come to understand that there is more to life than earning a living. That reaching outwards to create the circumstances to make us happy and acquiring our objects of happiness is not the whole picture. Surely there must be something more to life?
In moments of quiet reflection we may begin to ask "Who am I?", "Why am I here?", "What is the meaning of my life?", "Why am I not fulfilled?", "Is there something more?", "Do I have a higher purpose?"
When we begin to ask these questions and seriously make attempts to answer them, then we can safely say that we have begun our spiritual journey.
It is said that "a journey of 1000 miles starts with one footstep."
This web site attempts to assist those who have begun their journey. In truth, the whole of your life is a preparation which leads you to this point. Knowingly or unknowingly, we are all on a spiritual journey and you are making those first steps in realising this truth. Congratulations! We applaud your courage in taking these steps.
Now you may need help and guidance on your journey. Many, many souls have trodden this path. In fact, so many now, that the path can be more likened to a road with overtaking lanes and fast and slow lanes! A word of advice, don't drive too fast! Go at your own pace. There are many paths to spiritual growth. Whatever path you chose will lead you to the answers to your questions and eventually bring you to "The peace which passeth all understanding." Being on the spiritual path is the goal. There is no destination. Enjoy the journey, for to take the journey is to arrive.
